Winters Rerturn

well winter returns with polar vortex 3 but one thing that is not in the cold air and snow's favor is the higher sun angle and that increases the heat that the earth gets  from the sun however the earth is really dependent on the  unltra violet radation and the infrared or heat radiation that we get from the sun durring increased solar actvity and we are entering a solar Minimum a period of time of decressed solar out put that means the summers would be not as hot  and the winters colder and longer  because the earth is not getting  enough solar energy from the sun  the Mini Ice age occured from 1645 to 1715  in the middle of the 100 year cicle  the maunder minimum where sunspots nearly droped to zero and that had a adverse effect on the weather  and climates of earth,

 i am writing this because there is a indication that we are  going into a Minimum cycle now sun spots are  on the decrease  last years max was weak at best  and well you know waht happens from there if it goes on we will enter what some have called the Modern Minimum thats for modern times   the Modern Maximum has occured  now for the decrease for the Modern Minimum  and such is the effects it should take a while for the sun spots to drop off radicaly but that is already under way i mean since early 2001 its been on the decline according to star charts and sunspot maps

Where i work

I am a Meteorologist  at the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Olney Md  there are several office buildings in the complex the NWS Olney is the Farthest most one in the complex  there are the NWS Mid Atlantic Forecast Center or MAFC the NASA NGSS Mission control Office/Flight room is another building in the complex all things NGSS are run out of that office even flight operations  The Atlantic Hurricane Forecast Center The AHFC the NWS Climate Forecast And Data Center  and the NWS's Mid Atlantic and North East Storms prediction center that forecasts severe weather for the North East and Mid Atlantic area the other non NOAA/NWS office in  the complex is the National Criminal Ivestigative Service Head  Quarters  or NCIS

Its a rather large complex many buildings it was recently completed away from Down town to allow for working and other things weather and Nasa. NASA is thinking of Dedicating the NGSS or Next Generation Space Shuttle to purely Weather missions and  resupply to the space station  the launch pads at kennedy space center have been adapted for  the SLS  or Space Launch System  the pad complex is beeing built on the eastern shore with a long landing runway it will be controled from Flight control here in Rockville while SLS missions will be controled from Houston Texas that is what Nasa is doing  I am also a trained Astronaut i am going to fly the NGSS and NASA Nasa is going to call that The Middle Atlantic Space Center they havent picked a name for it maybe the WIlliam Jefferson Clinton Space Center and training complex  its a increase in budget that My brother was able to procure for Nasa To fund  the construction of the new complex and space center  it will be just East of Salisbury maryland  so   the shuttle drops is boosters in the ocean not over the coast line of the USA. of course NASA Wallops Island will be still used its just a NGSS launch complex   its going to be completed soon and New Next Generation of Astronauts is beeing trained on the NGSS simulator and  other things at Houston Texas  so yeah beside a Extreme Weather Cat i am an Astronaut.

Hey its me  The Extreme Weather Cat  ( Kathryn ) i wanted to post something that occured last  month before i started this blog my pet cat Sammantha was put down because of Squemus Cell Carsinoma  of the mouth  she died a month ago on the 27th  at 12:15 Pm  she was a loved little Cat she was born  June 1 2000 to January 27th 2014  she will be missed  i know My brother is crying she was a thereapy cat for him and she was also a friend to all the chasers who would come over to the house they all loved her she liked them thats why on his page he has a memorial album to her on it and well i wanted to say something about that  we have 2 new cats but its not the same as sammy so yeah its not the same i miss her greatly and i know she's in a safe place where the cancer can't get her any more  she's with St Francis of Assissi  till we can join her shes also with my grandmothers cats Susanna And Minina as well  so she has friends there who are good to her i am glad :'( miss you sammy your a good kitty and allways will be a good kitty.

 Its me The Extreme Weather Cat AKA Kathryn    weather forecasts indicate possible 1 to 4 inches of snow tonight and then a warm up followed by another cool down again at the end of the week again  what a wild ride.  the weather is giving  us. However i have been doing some research into what's happening astronomicaly and well  the sun is entering another minimum period  if its anything like the Mounder minimum  of the 1600s an the 1700s the earth is in for maybe a mini ice age  but the only mitigateing factor i can think of is  global warming it would keep the earth's temps up and that would compensate for the decreased solar actvitiy and out put  we are soo dependent on the sun for  more than just warmpth and light.


 Any one who has seen the movie "  The Day After Tomarrow" will know from that movie any cooling effects that are created by the decreased solar activity and lower than normal solar output   will cause cooling of the tropical currents like the gulf stream and that in turn could trigger snowyer winters in places like europe and  england and the snow not really melting when summer rolls around because the sun is not warming the planet  the last Maunder Minimum i think lasted 100 years i will check on that  and let you know from 1645 to 1715 thats about 100 years and well the little ice age coinsided with that period and well we are headed  from whats called the Moden Maximum into what will most likely be called the Modern Minimum for modern times it may be a period of decreased solar actvitiy that will cause more havoc with earths climate that we are sure off why becacuse there is a written record of the little ice age that aflicted europe and the armeican north east  in that time frame so i am consurned  there was a story published in the Journal Nation GeoScience  recently as recently as 2011  that showed a corrilation between  sun spots and an increase in UV light from the sun and  how it affects earths climate.

The lower sun spot Activity releases lower levels of UV light  and lower amounts of heat as well  the sun is basicly dimmer than it normaly is because its in a lul of acvitity and well its just the way it is and we humans have to adapt  as i am sure you have eard this  for the North east " as surely as the water flows in the valies of the north east  like the hudson valley  the Ice will again return to the hudson valley and the north east and reclame its land. "

 and decreassed heat from the sun would cause  snowyer winters and cooler and wetter summers in most areas in the north that gets show the snow would be slow to melt away in spring and start to pile up more year after year thats how  ice sheets are born  from years and years of piled up  snow it compresses into ice  and rivers of ice too and also sea level will be lower than  it is now durring a ice age and the desert states would see a greening effect and so on the shahara desert would see a greening as well more rain and water for parched lands and such the whole climate zones would shift south as the ice sheets advance in the northern hemisphere i dont know about the southern Hemisphere but i am sure in antrica the same effects too will occur because its in the same polar reagon as the artic.  so that has me a bit consurned but we shall see what we shall see

Getting to know me

Hi Its me Kathryn Miller i am also known as the Extreme Weather Cat  because i am a WerePanther  yes there is such a thing as a werePanther  and yes we and other were's exisist don't think we are stuff of legend because we are all to real i know some of you will be like " no way your lying" and i can asure you i am not lying its quite Real.  Like in  the X-Men movies were's could be considered mutants as well as the normal mutants as well like Rouge storm Cyclops and all the others you know so well from the movies.

I will go on about me i guess since this is a get to know me post in the blog i am a Meteorologist and weather enthuseist and well i  work for the National Weather Service i am also a weather  Buff i like all things astronomical and meteorlogical as well since sun and space pertains to weather too here on earth thats why i like it because the sun infulences the earth's weather so much i am also a science fiction fan and Natural disaster movie fan  movies like  " the day after tomarrow"  and other Natural disaster movies have my attention like Deep Impact and others like it just to name a few.  As far as sexual orentation goes I am a Lesbian why you ask and i will tell i was raped by  my boyfriend that i met online and that was what turned me off to men there is one man i love dearly thats my big brother James he was there with me in the ER and when he was told to wait in the waiting area i cried and screamed till they called him to come back and when he came back i calmed down sounds silly huh but it's true.

I am married to a wonderful woman named Emily Rose we have 3 girls and a son Their names are Rory My eldest  Roslynn my next eldest and Jose my youngest son now we have the infant that is a new born now several months old  her name is Katchyna. i know that is a unuseal name i like unuseal names  lol  I have 2 cats Chloe and Joli  Joli is a kitten still and right now  sunday  febuary 16th shes playing with a toy mouse. I have a best friend Named brittany burrus who i love as a sister very dearly and well i have other friends too but i dont want tomention them i have to many to mention. lol

 I dont know what ealse to say except thanks to my big brother for letting me use his blogger acct to keep this blog and i am also a storm chaser as well i am a admin on his page Washington area storm chase team and hes an admin on mine too Extreme Weather Kat  lol anyway i wanted to thank all of you for stoping by if i feel i should write more about me i will do so maybe this is to premature because i may have more to write here anyway.

I have helped My brother on a number of research projects  he has a doctorate in meteorology that i don't it would be to much work for me to go that far . I am a astronaut as well but i havent flown in space yet i hope i do but i dont think i will i am not to happy about that but it will be ok i guess i will be a part of the weather forecasting group for space launches at Kennedy space center or the johnson space center in huston texas i don't know yet


Any way enough so far about me  hope you all like this little get to know you  entery in the blog i will try to keep things intersting as possible
